Mental Health Therapy and Addictions Counseling
I work with adults, families, adolescents, and couples who are navigating a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, OCD, betrayal trauma, infidelity trauma, mood disorders, ADHD/ADD, substance use disorders, sex addiction, porn addiction, gambling addiction, and relationship issues.
My approach is holistic and person-centered. I believe you are not defined by your mental health struggles—you are a whole, complex, resilient person who deserves care that is grounded in respect, compassion, and zero judgment. My goal is to help you heal, grow, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that feel capable and whole.
Offering in person & telehealth appointments.
Methodology
I primarily use:
-
A form of psychotherapy that aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions, primarily depression, PTSD and anxiety disorders.
-
DBT can be useful in treating mood disorders and suicidal ideation as well as for changing behavioral patterns such as self-harm and substance use.
-
An empirically-based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies along with commitment and behavior-change strategies to increase psychological flexibility.
-
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of psychotherapy designed to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy is a cognitive-behavioral treatment used to address obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other anxiety disorders.
-
a humanistic, evidence-based approach to psychotherapy, rooted in attachment theory, that focuses on the emotional bond in significant relationships, helping individuals and couples identify and transform negative interaction patterns to foster secure connection.
-
A counseling approach that helps clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change, empowering them to find their own motivation for positive behavioral shifts through empathetic and supportive dialogue.
-
A form of psychotherapy that uses hypnosis to induce a state of altered consciousness in order to promote positive changes in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
-
A type of psychotherapy that focuses on the body and its connection to the mind. It is based on the belief that unresolved trauma and emotional experiences can become stored in the body, leading to physical and psychological symptoms.
-
A couples therapy approach, rooted in 40 years of research, that aims to improve communication, intimacy, and emotional connection by addressing conflict productively and building a life of shared meaning.

Nancy Lee Dunn, LCSW, PLLC, CASAC
Mental Health Therapy, Addiction Counseling, Coaching
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) specializing in anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, trauma, betrayal trauma, infidelity trauma, substance use disorders, ADHD, sex and porn addiction and couples therapy. I work with adults, adolescents, families, and couples and use evidence-based modalities including CBT, ACT, DBT, IFS, EMDR, and The Gottman Method to help clients create lasting change.
My clinical experience includes work in private practice and inpatient treatment settings, including St. Peter's Hospital Detox, where I supported individuals experiencing acute withdrawal, addiction, and co-occurring mental health challenges. In private practice, I have worked extensively with adolescents, adults, and couples navigating trauma, substance abuse, sex addiction, betrayal trauma, relationship issues, and other complex emotional concerns. I also integrate EFT, hypnotherapy, and trauma-informed approaches to meet each client where they are.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 27 years as a high school teacher, an experience that profoundly shaped the way I understand people, relationships, conflict, development, and resilience. My years in education gave me a deep appreciation for the emotional lives of adolescents, the complexities families face, and the importance of patience, presence, and compassionate guidance. This work ultimately inspired me to pursue clinical social work and support individuals and families on a deeper level.
I am passionate about helping clients reconnect with their strengths, heal from past wounds, and move forward with clarity and confidence. If you or a loved one is struggling with mental health challenges, addiction, trauma, or if you are part of a couple seeking healthier communication and a stronger relationship, I welcome you to reach out. I would be honored to support you on your path toward growth and healing..
